Ashburton Airport boasts an outstanding Aviation Museum which is home to some of New Zealand's most unique aircraft, including the GR3 Harrier VTOL Jetfighter, 1933 Porterfield, B2 Canberra Bomber cockpit and the 1942 German Veihe Glider and the Skyhawk.

The Ashburton Aviation Museum is open daily 1pm – 3pm with extended hours on Wednesday and Saturday 9am – 3pm. Cost of entry is $10.00 with children under 12 years of age free. To arrange to visit the museum outside of these hours please phone (03) 308 6408.​
