Are you an experienced Electrical Technician looking for a change? Do you have a NZ EWRB Electrical Certification? Do you enjoy a varied role where no two days can be the same?
Our client is a family-owned business who have been operating in Ashburton in the agricultural sector for over 30 years. Due to the high demand of their quality product and continual market and company growth, they require a NZ Qualified Electrical Technician that can service their customers’ requirements in the Mid Canterbury, South Island region and beyond.
This is a key role to support a growing customer base and will include diagnosis of Pump faults, residential and commercial aspects, VSD installations, LED light programming, Switch board inspection, installation and repair. You will be responsible for electrical design, repairs, maintenance and installations, commissioning, servicing and repairs.
This is a hands-on role which will suit someone who is comfortable working autonomously with the support of a good team, is enthusiastic and motivated, and above all is reliable and trustworthy. You will have good written and verbal communication skills, have a solid background as an electrician, preferably in the agricultural sector in irrigation and have engineering experience.
To be considered for this position you will have:
- A current NZ Electrical practising licence - EWRB Registered
- Awareness of NZ Health & Safety
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- An understanding of the rural sector and farming
- PLC Programming experience
- AutoCAD
- Excellent people skills and is customer focused
- A positive and proactive attitude with ability to adapt
- An understanding of hydraulics and pumps is desirable but not necessary
To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent organisational skills and record-keeping, be able to build solid relationships with colleagues and external clients and be able to problem solve.
The hours for this role are day shift, Monday to Friday 7.00am-5.00pm along with rostered on-call weekends. Overtime is paid at time and half after 50 hours.
