About the Company
We are a global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of advanced plastic piping systems. We have provided rural water expertise for New Zealand for over 45 years. Our products include coils, pipe and pipe fittings. We have robust systems and processes, and a true focus on Health & Safety.
About the Role
We are looking to expand our team of Machine Operators and find people who are looking for an apprenticeship and would like to learn some new skills. We are a leading manufacturer of plastic pipe for agriculture, construction and utilities; and have multiple plants across New Zealand. Our Ashburton plant is looking for apprentices to become operators and to develop internally. We are looking for apprentices for the afternoon shift (3:00PM – 11:00PM) and the night shift (11:00PM – 07:00AM). The ideal applicant will have a fantastic attitude, willingness to learn and ability to turn up to work every day. We are looking for people with an interest in plastics manufacturing and engineering and we will provide full training and study to help you progress. Experience working in a factory would be beneficial, however not essential. We can offer a good career path for our apprentices and offer to put you through your plastic processing qualifications initially and further down the track we can offer you career development – whether this be Process Engineering, Mechanical roles or Team Leader roles.
Role Requirements
• Setting up, monitoring & operating plastic pipe manufacturing machines
• Conducting quality assurance processes to ensure product standards
• Carry out die changes once production requirements have been met for each product
• Monitor configurations and products to ensure machines are fully utilised
Personal Attributes
• Mechanical aptitude to form a basic understanding of the machines – relevant education or experience would be beneficial
• Good communication and able to work in a multicultural team environment
• Thorough with good attention to detail
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Looking for a role to develop your career in plastics
• Interested in learning new things and upskilling
• Physically able (as there will be some lifting required)
• Keen attitude to learn and get involved
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
